  • Details on Our Manufactured Home

It’s been a while since I shared all the details on our new construction manufactured home so here goes..

Our home is manufactured by Live Oak Homes in Georgia, and this model specifically is The Fancy! We love it because not only was it affordable at $179,000, it also came fully furnished with all the furniture, home decor, rugs, and appliances!

A little more details, it’s 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and 2254 sqft, plenty of room for our family of five! We love the fact that it has 2 living rooms, a dining area, and an island big enough to fit the whole family (it’s 11.5’ long!)

We have made some changes over the past year with things like the kitchen backsplash, board and batten siding, and refinishing the walls to name a few.

The home came with a home warranty and they were able to change some things out for us at no additional cost, like a chip in the counter top being that it was the model home. We had a couple of foggy windows that were replaced, and a crack in the ceiling from the delivery process that they were able to patch up.

If you’re thinking about a manufactured home, I would definitely recommend one if you are looking for that affordable lifestyle and a home that is easy to customize and upgrade!

  • New Kitchen Backsplash

James just installed our new backsplash and I love it!

    Before

The old backsplash wasn’t much to look at as it was just a single row of tiles, some of which fell off during transport!

We decided to play it safe and went with a subway tile with an irregular edge and different shades of white.

Here’s the exact tile we used, and we found it at aww Lowes, paired with the light gray grout.

What do you think? Have you installed a tile backsplash before?

  • Sold

At the beginning of the summer we decided to sell our house. We spent the next few weeks getting it ready and packing up 85% of our things. No easy task for Harper, that girl has so many squishmallows 🤪

Next we had to decide how to sell. A few homes in our neighborhood had recently sold, but they were never on the MLS. Turns out they were Ibuyers, the one most used was Offer pad but there are other companies too like Express offer, and Redfin. Offerpad was definitely appealing you can choose your move out date at your convenience, never have a showing, and not have to do any repairs or cleaning! The part I liked most was if you couldn’t find a home you could rent your home back for a small fee until you found something.

So why didn’t we go with the Offerpad offer? Well it was below what we could get if we used a traditional realtor, so much below that I could buy a brand new car with the difference.

In the end it all worked out, we really didn’t need to make any repairs since our house was newer, and we only had to do 2 showings. Buying and selling a home these days sure is different than the past, but nothing to be intimidated about! Now the real fun can begin, shopping for a new home 🏠
