We’ve been trying all the DIY trends on Tik Tok. The kids have been having a lot of fun with it. Yesterday we tried Hydro dipping, which I will make a post about soon. Today I wanted to share Our matching bleach dye shorts!

I ordered all the supplies from Amazon and will provide links at the bottom. The shorts are Soffe brand, they are so comfortable. Since we’ve been stuck home I ordered a bunch to just lounge around the house in!

Learn from my mistakes!! The orange pair didn’t turn out as dramatic because I didn’t wet the shorts first, and also I didn’t do every OTHER elastic section with the bleach. I was thinking when I tie dye the dye never makes it all the way through the folds in the fabric, but that is not the case for bleach. I still think the orange look great, they came out more of a neon orange with a subtle dye effect.

When you make your bleach mixture be sure to use 1/2 bleach 1/2 water, otherwise the bleach could eventually eat through your fabric. I let the bleach sit on everything for 20 mins before fully rinsing and then washing in the washing machine.

I linked the Soffe shorts on Amazon, the rubber bands are left over from tie dye but any will do. Also the bleach is cleaning bleach, but I’ve seen it done with bleach gel also.
